Amy Smart is a former American actor and model. The modeling career she began with was in Italy in Italy, where she was raised and was born in California. In 1996 she debuted as an actress in the TV movie Her Costly Affair. After a very difficult struggle her way to a role, she got a chance as 'Starship Troopers' in starring in Starship Troopers. She struggled with the transition to acting because models were not considered as good actors, and they typically were given smaller parts. However, Amy was determined to keep going and stepped into bigger roles eventually starting with the series The 70s and the film Varsity Blues. In 2005, she took part in the leading role of the romantic comedy Just Friends with Ryan Reynolds. The film became a massive commercial success, and Amy was finally able to get the success she'd been trying for for more than 10 years. Amy continued to make significant films, like Crank alongside Jason Statham or Shameless in which she was loved as a recurring role.
