April Ross
April Ross, a beach volleyball player in the US is part of a select group of women who have had medals won in more than one Olympics. In Tokyo over the next several days, she'll try to net her third medal along with first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. Ross is determined to earn more than her initial Olympic medal. This may be the last chance she'll ever have at age 39. She's certain that the top prizes are in reach. Ross was mentioned in NBC Boston as saying that If you put in your best, even if you perform well, you will win the gold. Also, it's an issue of luck. Ross was born the 22, 1982, at Costa Mesa California. She resided there with her family. She was able to participate in a myriad of activities at Newport Harbor High School. In her time as a college athlete she was also a participant in indoor track and volleyball. She clearly was the top at the sport of indoor volleyball. Based on her bio, she played an outside blocker as well as a middle hitter on the volleyball court during her high-school career. The results of her efforts were acknowledged when she was named 1999 Gatorade's National Circle of Champions players of the year. In 2000, she won her the Orange County Athlete of the of the year for volleyball. Ross is currently playing alongside Klineman since the year 2017 but her beach game had been established long before the year. It's true that she has had the chance to win numerous events, and one was won by a legendary volleyball player. Ross teamed up together with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and she also served as Klineman's coach. Together together with Kessy, Ross won an Olympic Title in 2009, while racing in the international circuit. The pair eventually picked up an Olympic silver medal during the 2012 Olympic Games in London. They were beaten out for the gold medal by the legendary group comprising Misty and Kerri Walsh (Jennings). Ross Jennings became Walsh Jennings partner in fate when Maytreanor retired. They won the bronze medal in beach volleyball at Rio Olympics 2016. Ross was a college athlete for USC Trojans before starting her professional career. She was a player in high school, as well as years prior to hitting the beach as a professional. The time she spent at USC was impressive. In her first year at the school, 2000 earned her the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Freshman's of Year awards and be an All-American. She was also an integral player in helping the Trojans reach the Final Four. After her sophomore year, she experienced a terrible personal loss and still earned the distinction of being an All-American. Over the course of her two final years with the Trojans they helped achieve consecutive championships. Individually she had cemented herself as an all-time legend having won the 2003-2004 Honda Sports Award as the highest ranked female volleyball player. Ross was a major in the field of international relations in USC. Unfortunately, Ross mother Margie was not able to witness her daughter ascend to the top levels of beach volleyball fame. Ross suffered the loss of her mom to cancer of the breast in 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. In the aftermath, Ross continues to be close to her deceased parent. Margie has been an inspiration throughout her life, as well as on the beaches.
